When Jeffrey Hergenrather, MD, gave a three hour overview of Cannabis as Medicine to a dozen undergraduates at Sonoma State University January 23, it was not only the breaking of an intellectual color line, it created an odd irony: these college students now know more about the subject than most US physicians.

BIOL 385 is a 3 unit upper division course, open to all majors (though basic biology and chemistry courses are prerequisites).  The class will meet once a week through May 9th, 2018. In addition to his own presentations,  Dr. Hergenrather has arranged for renowned cannabinoid researchers and fellow clinicians to video cast lectures —Drs. Ethan Russo, Dustin Sulak, Greg Gerdemann, Bonni Goldstein and Melanie Dreher.
