July 2020  We forwarded this New York Times piece to John McPartland, a great sprinter in his youth who aspired to make the US Olympic team in 1980. He replies:

Sweet to see photos of Renaldo Nehemiah. He went to Scotch Plains High School. I ran against him in the States, in the 4 x 440 yd relay.  That was my specialty event, I was a senior.  Skeets was a sophomore, and a 110 yd sprinter—out of his league. He blew me away. Carl Lewis was at Willingboro High School.  Marty Liquori went to Essex Catholic.  New Jersey was a powerhouse back then.

I’ve forwarded the link to Jim Holmes, a guy in town who missed out on Moscow, in single sculls.  He’s still very bitter.

Thanks, John
